Workshops
From time to time events are organised that provide for improvement in dancing and technique. Such events address all abilities. These are called workshops or day schools, and are often held at weekends for a day, or part of a day, or even the whole weekend.
Thus, a “beginners and improvers” workshop would be invaluable to those who have recently started and wish to improve their technique and confidence. Other workshops are arranged for those who are more experienced and concentrate on technique.
The RSCDS organises an annual “Summer School” at St Andrews over four successive weeks; mid July to mid August. Each morning there is are classes designed for all abilities. There are a variety of afternoon options (including just having some time off to enjoy St Andrews). Most days are concluded with an evening dance ceilidh. Summer School is attended by dancers from all over the world and is a great experience. There is also a “Winter School” week in February at Pitlochry. More details can be found on the RSCDS website.
More details of these and local classes will be found on our information leaflets (updated each term).
All dates are provisional and all events are subject to confirmation nearer the time.
